Naval Podcast: Read What You Love Until You Love to Read
|David Senra||Apr 7, 2019|
Reading is faster than listening. Doing is faster than watching.
The foundation of learning is reading. I don’t know a smart person who doesn’t read. The way to educate yourself is to develop a love for reading.
It is important to read foundational things. Foundational things are the original books in a given field. Books like: The Wealth of Nations by Adam Smith, Origin of Species by Darwin, The 8th Day of Creation etc...
Due to the Internet, the means of learning are not scarce. The means of learning are abundant. The desire to learn is scarce.
Don’t lose the child-like curiosity innate in humans. Children are always asking questions. The problem is our educational systems replaces curiosity with compliance. That makes a factory worker - not a creative thinker.
